Resumen

La memoria pública de las relaciones entre el Reino Unido y la Europa comunitaria ha estado siempre marcada, aquí y allí, por la distorsión simplificadora. La complejidad de estas relaciones no encaja en la narrativa sobre los orígenes de la integración europea que ha dominado el discurso público durante setenta años. Las consecuencias derivadas del resultado del referéndum del 23 de junio de 2016 permiten comprender, sin filtros ideológicos, la naturaleza del fenómeno de la integración europea.
