Resumen

Este texto analiza el cambio temático en la historia rural desde los años sesenta del siglo pasado hasta nuestros días. Los primeros escritos se centraron en la transición del feudalismo al capitalismo, en el crecimiento de las condiciones previas del desarrollo industrial a través de desarrollos dentro de la sociedad agraria preindustrial y, en gran medida, en la agencia campesina. Más tarde, el enfoque cambió hacia los estudios que incorporaban temas ambientales, la sostenibilidad (y últimamente la resiliencia) de los sistemas históricos de producción agrícola y también los problemas de soberanía alimentaria. La hipótesis discutida es que muchos de los primeros escritos se inspiraron en la descolonización de las colonias asiáticas y africanas de Europa, la revolución (campesina) en China y el desarrollo de la sociología rural. La tendencia del cambio de enfoque actual se plantea relacionada con el surgimiento de más recientes agendas ambientales y temas relacionados con el libre comercio y el predominio del sector alimentario por parte de las grandes empresas transnacionales. La atención se centra principalmente en la historiografía escandinava.
