Resumen
Este artículo analiza la primera crisis de Suez en Dakar y su relevancia sobre la modernización portuaria en África Occidental en un contexto de transformaciones en el sector naval internacional. Las fuentes de archivo de Senegal y Francia permiten observar el impacto de la crisis en Dakar en un marco de competencia interportuaria frente a Las Palmas. El estudio remarca los principales desafíos técnicos, institucionales y logísticos a los que tuvo que enfrentarse la comunidad portuaria. Es la primera vez que este evento es exhaustivamente analizado en un puerto de África Occidental.
