About the Journal
The “Anuario de Derecho Municipal” (Municipal Law Yearbook) is an open, free and annual scientific publication aimed at both national and international academic and professional community, specialized in local government law. It was firstly launched in printed edition in 2007 with the objective of offering common criteria of both a theoretical and practical nature to academics and professionals dedicated to the study of local administrations.
ADM is the acronym of the “Anuario de Derecho Municipal”, property of the “Instituto de Derecho Local de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid” (Institute of Local Government Law of the Autonomous University of Madrid).
The ADM offers a technical, rigorous and expert view of the current problems affecting local administrations. It includes, on the one hand, studies and scientific articles on topics of current local interest and, on the other hand, reports on the most transcendental normative, jurisprudential and bibliographical novelties that take place in various areas of local administrative activity (urban planning, public procurement, environment, local taxes and budgets, patrimonial responsibility, etc.).
The journal consists of two sections: studies and reports. Only studies are subject to anonymous peer review. The steering committee may also agree on the inclusion of an additional section, with technical reports prepared by professionals from local entities and/or an introductory study. The sectoral reports and, if applicable, the technical reports and the introductory study are not subject to anonymous peer review.
The objectives of the journal are:
a) The dissemination of knowledge in the area of legal and political sciences, in particular local government law, through the publication of research and studies related to the planning and activities of local entities, characterized by their originality and quality.
b) To constitute a vehicle for reflection and debate on all types of political-legal problems, both from a theoretical and practical point of view.
Starting with issue number 14 of 2020, the ADM inaugurated a new phase as an electronic journal on the electronic platform for academic journals of the Marcial Pons publishing house. The transition to the new electronic format includes the digitization of the entire historical series of the journal, offering the possibility of consulting the electronic versions of all its articles from the first issue to issue number 13 corresponding to 2019.
