Abstract
The article examines the contacts of the most important global anticommunist organization of the interwar period, Théodore Aubert's Entente Internationale Anticommuniste (EIA; 1924-1950), with Spain and Latin America. While its influence on Francisco Franco is well known, the Spanish case should be presented as a more holistic project preceding Francoism. On the contrary, the penetration attempts of the EIA in Latin America are unknown at all. Based on documents from its archive in Geneva, the article explores the EIA's relationship with the Iberoamerican world, highlighting two cases that demonstrate its relevance: Spain and Brazil. The Entente's influence, the author concludes, remained subject to the political vicissitudes of each country in the region, and therefore only case studies will be able to grasp the real reach of its tentacles.
